Ethan Zuckerman on citizen media’s global scope
Here’s video #2 for Videoblogging Week (see others’ videos at MeFeedia): An interview with Ethan Zuckerman, co-founder of the international blogging site Global Voices Online. The video is part of the Center for Citizen Media’s Principles of Citizen Journalism project.
I spoke with Ethan at the Ideas Festival about the global scope of citizen media. Ethan, who blogs here, is one of the most perceptive observers of the changing media landscape.
Quote: "We can all come up with stories where the media has gotten things
entirely wrong. … But that doesn’t lower the bar for us. Ideally, we’re
going to be more fair."
Formats:
• MPEG-4
• Windows Media
• Flash (with deep tags at MotionBox that let you skip through parts of the interview)
Length: 19:39
