Old ethical rules still apply
My compadre at OJR, Mark Glaser, in his latest article has a roundtable discussion with folks about the state of online ethics and standards (or lack thereof) and how they vary from big media ethics (or lack thereof).
"I'm finding the standard of accuracy throughout the traditional media is lower than we like to admit as an industry and probably closer to the level the public claims it to be. It's probably worse on the Net, but it's also easier to fix mistakes and update stories." -- Kelly McBride, Poynter
Looks like things haven't changed much since I wrote about this for OJR three years ago.
